Tinkerbell: Getting Ready to Go Home!

In November 2012, two ladies from the United States came to visit CARA’s Center for the rescued Laguna Pit Bulls (LPBs) at our former location in Lipa, Batangas. They had seen our website and were eager to see our facilities, meet the dogs, and help by way of donations. One of them was smitten by young Tinkerbell, who was then approximately six months old. She was a reticent little girl who still didn’t trust many people. But thanks to some dedicated volunteers, she has come out of her shell and has learned not to be fearful of most people she meets.

At present, Tinker is at Pup Culture to bring her training to the next level, and also to prepare for her departure for her new home in Los Angeles, California. Dog trainer and Pup Culture owner Jennie Fajardo-Panes is teaching her to be more sociable with other dogs and people, plus a few basic commands. Training has brought out even more of Tinkerbell’s sweet, lovable, and playful side.

We are all so happy for Tinkerbell not only because she will now have a new home, but also because she will be the first ambassador of the LPBs to the US. With Tinkerbell there, we hope to spread the word about the LPBs beyond our shores so that these formerly abused dogs will find homes not only in the Philippines but also, perhaps abroad.

Safe travels, Tinkerbell!
